Having the volume set to 1% on an iPhone 16 Pro Max with a shortcut is equivalent to 20% on an iPhone X. The speakers are powerful, but the minimum volume is too loud. Is this only happening to me? Is it a hardware issue? Can it be fixed with an update?

Today, I visited a K-tuin store (an official Apple reseller), and they told me they had no record of that issue. I played the same song on an iPhone 16 Pro Max they had on display and compared it with mine, and that one didn’t have the problem. So, in principle, this issue has a solution.
Therefore, I recommend that you all reset your phone to factory settings. I’m going to try doing it tomorrow or in the next few days to see if it works. I don’t think this issue will be fixed with a software update.
Likewise, I’d like to remind you that this forum is not a place for Apple to fix anything. If you have an issue, you should contact technical support and report it, because this forum has no reach.
If the problem persists, I will go to an Apple Store to see if I can request a phone replacement. Lastly, I’d like to remind you that your device has a one-year warranty, so don’t wait until the last minute to address your issue.
This is not livable. If it not fixable I don't want this phone. I fall asleep each night to audio books, the volume does not help set the stage! I see some of you are talking about a fix to 1%, but I am not sure how to do that. I did find a spot to lower the volume when using headphones, but the change was negligible.
I swear that I will go back to Android s soon as I have the opportunity, I used to be able to adjust my Samsung phone to the lowest settings when I was going to sleep. Something that I have not been able to do with the Iphone, i created a volume shortcut at 1% but is still to loud to play relaxing sounds to either meditate or fall asleep.
I’m dealing with the same issue! As an individual with autism/sensory processing issues, the minimum volume is way too loud for me! I previously had the 13 and didn’t have this issue. No matter how much I try to lower it, it’s still setting me off when I’m overstimulated. Please help!
The lowest volume is very loud. I dot wear AirPods to bed. I can’t watch anything in bed with fear of waking my husband. I can’t watch around my children going to bed. Whoever thought raising the volume should consider an update to bring it back to normal settings.
Not being able to quiet or silence the system sounds without having to silence the entire phone makes this a dealbreaker for me. I have to choose bwtn missing calls and texts or having very loud swoosh whenever I send a text. It’s too loud to have on in public. Kinda defeats the purpose of the basic functions of a cell phone. And when I try to adjust the volume with the slider, the slider goes automatically back up on its own not letting it go lower.
well looks like this issue still hasn’t been fixed. I listen to meditations to go to sleep and the volume is so loud that it keeps me awake! I tried to talk to Apple support and they were completely useless. I really hope Apple fix this soon!
yes this is so frustrating! i’ve been trying to change my settings according to a comment on here but i don’t have the options to do it?? wish they would just fix it to what it was like on past models. the lowest volume is still too loud.
Same problem with my iPhone 16 pro here in the UK. Why too loud, not sure what’s going on.
Same thing with iPhone 16. Minimum volume is way louder than my previous iPhone 13 Pro. Hopefully they fix this!
If you say this happened with 15s as well, the chances of getting it fixed decrease significantly…
