Gray box whilst typing in Facebook on iPhone

Others have claimed it happened elsewhere, but to date and all these pages, not one person has posted a screenshot to backup that claim. Will you be the first? That said, it wouldn't be all too surprising WhatsApp could have the same issue. It is after all, owned by the same company as Facebook, which is Meta.

You do realize Messenger is owned by Facebook, right? Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger are all apps from the same company, which is Meta.

Well since all this gapping even my typing in my phone not working as good so not just FB thing ! Since updated phone my phone been really slow typing or won’t type at all til I play around with my keyboard ! Just weird ! But ty Apple support

I’m in Canada and I have the same issue. I saw a video on how to turn this off. I can’t remember the steps. Maybe google it. You can see every website who is tracking and trading your info.

I have an iPhone 12 and it was after my last update.

Time to go back to a rotary phone and a knock at the door I guess.

You're welcome. In what way are you suggesting you need to secure your phone? Everything on your phone is encrypted to begin with. If you use a Passcode and are signed into Find My, your phone can't be used by anyone eles. And if you use Two Factor Authentication, there really isn't anything else you could need to do to secure your Phone. As it relates to 3rd party applications, like Facebook, what you post there is between you and Facebook and has nothing to do with Apple at all. I'd say that if anyone is concerned about what they do on social media apps, maybe they should rethink using them? That again has nothing to do with Apple or their iPhone.

All posts; both comments on friends pages & answering a comment on my own page. Getting it with iPhone 15pro and an ipad with a keyboard case for faster typing. Seems it’s an Apple thing, not android.. but who’s going to fix it?

It’s covering up most of the screen area where I’m typing. Very annoying and it guarantees that I will eventually stop commenting. If it’s a glitch it’s one that promotes self censorship or if anything less engaging behavior.

I can’t recall the users name that I replied to last week (I think I replied) but they commented saying something about a certain ‘key’ on the left side of the keyboard must have been tapped for that to happen, something like that I believe. And ya know, ever since I read and/or replied to that comment, that gray box has not appeared since.

happens only on facebook.

if and when someone knows how to get rid of it please let us know so we can remove that .

I also have this on Facebook and our corporate group comms platform (uses Facebook) very frustrating
