I need a portable flash drive that I can use with my new iPad Air. I want to view video that I put on the drive from my computer.

Any drive should work as long as it's formatted as exFat, HFS+ or APFS.
To view the videos on the drive, you can use the Files App or a third party video app such as VLC, but you won't be able to use the TV app directly.
