Installed fonts aren't appearing in my Adobe

I have certain sets of fonts to use for work. Am using a macbook air with the latest OS.

Have dragged and dropped the fonts into Font book and also into the Adobe Indesign > Fonts folder but they still don't appear!

I know that postscript fonts are no longer supported but I thought True Type is still supported (at least according to what I google)? or has this changed in 2025?

please help, thank you!

All of the ones with no extension don't work because they're not TrueType fonts. Those are all Type 1 PS suitcase files for the bitmap portion. These will not work alone. You must also have the matching vector outline font.

Can't remember if it was in Sequoia, Sonoma, or whatever, but at some point, macOS started erroneously tagging Type 1 PostScript suitcase files as TrueType. Pretty much for no reason (I would presume) other than ancient OS 9 and earlier TrueType fonts were also a suitcase files. So now the OS just thinks any suitcase must be TrueType.

Here's an example of a T1 PS font in Sequoia:

It correctly identifies the required, matching outline font, but calls the suitcase of bitmap fonts TrueType.

Even if you correctly pair them up, the Adobe apps will not load them. Nor will MS Office, Quark XPress, SoftMaker Office 2014, and other apps. Others will still list them. It's hit or miss as T1 PS fonts are being phased out.
