I shared my iPhone 13 Pro's pictures with one of the phone repair shop at Bridgewater mall in New Jersey. Looking at the screws he said that though screws are rusted, I can fix this phone and repair cost would be 250 dollars for Pro. What is your opinion?
Secondly, I am just wondering that when apple couldn't not open rusty screw then what kind of tools he would be using to repair the phone. That means this technician is more intelligent than apple store technicians.
Swapping a corroded screw is easy. That’s minutes, with the right tool, and with available spares.
Swapping a corroded screw that is stuck or stripped is harder.
Solving a corroded screw that shears off, or that reveals extensive corrosion, or both, is yet harder, and gets much more expensive.
Stick your iPhone 13 Pro in a new case, or stick it back in its current case, and use it until the battery fails, or until the iPhone fails.
Or pay the $250, and see what happens. If the repair provider’s paperwork states the extent of the repair provider’s assumed risk is the screws and the screws alone, and nada más, then it’s likely a very good deal for them, too. Whether it is a good deal for you, or whether it causes further damage, or whether it exposes further corrosion, or some other problems? Donno. Let us know.
