turn off quicktake

There needs to be an option in Settings to turn off the “Quick take” feature. I understand that Apple and some users are excited about this feature. It’s OK to make it default, but we should be able to turn it off. Some people (many?) naturally press the shutter button longer than others. These people end up taking video when they want a still. That is a very annoying outcome. People don’t want to go back and manually figure out how to turn those videos into stills. Just put an option in settings to turn it off. Simple.

This is how it works:--> Use QuickTake to capture video while taking photos - Apple Support

But you're not addressing Apple here. We, just users like you, are not aware of Apple decisions/future plans.

If you'd like, you can submit your request to Apple directly, using this link:--> Apple – Product Feedback - iPhone

Thank you for your answer, Giulio. No trouble understanding how it works. The point is more that it doesn’t work well for people (like my father in law) who aren’t really good at learning detailed gestures (eg hold and flick left to to this, slide right to do that). Some people just want the camera to work simply in the way they expect.

You are correct, though, in that this is more a comment directed at Apple than a question to other users. I imagine that a lot of people will be feeling the same. Thank you for the link to give feedback directly to Apple.
