I recently brought a second hand macbook pro.... The owner gave all licensed paid applications too free in that with including final cut pro.

I then logged in into my apple account and updated the system software to Catalina and then to Big Sur. But then soon enough it asked me to update final cut pro and when i am trying to update it asking me to buy the application.

If you have projects that need finishing you could download the FREE 90 day Final Cut Pro Trial.

Alternatively if you don't want to buy FCP you can download the FREE DaVinci Resolve which in some ways is a better app.

The license is non transferable and id associated with an Apple id, not to a computer.

The previous owner bought it with his Apple id, and can redownload in his new mac, if he chooses to (I am on my third mac since I bought it, and only paid once, for example).

You do not have a license, so you can’t update. The previous owner should have erased his system and only put in a clean OS before passing it on to you. You got a freebie for a while.
