Is it possible to edit the toolbar to remove redundant or unused icons? In the attached snapshot, 25% of the toolbar is being taken by redundant "All Inboxes. 7 messages etc." and a Filter button that got lost and found its way from a prior location into this premium toolbar space. This is in my book poor design choice that forces more useful items off the window.

Try the 'newer' Mail view that is not Column Layout (?) introduced maybe in 2011 w/ OS X LIon...
