When will vertical-splitting be implemented on the iPad?

Vertical splitting is an incredibly useful feature for those using the ipad to lern, draw, take notes and read. The backbone of supporters for apple - and those looking at creative flow are so needing this feature. The ergonomics of horizontal scrolling on ipad air, pro (up to 11") are way worst for working on the go - reading and taking notes or drawing require compromising of screen-realstate horizontally vs. on a vertical screen (vertical splitting allows more width than half horizontal splitting)

will this feature come up on a iPad OS upgrade - not on OS 16?

iPad Pro 10.5-inch, Wi-Fi

Contributors within the Apple Support Community are all end-users, just like you. We have absolutely no insight into Apple’s product development roadmap - and as such can offer no comment as to future features beyond information publicly released or announced by Apple.

As for what new features may, or may not, be included with iPadOS16.x will only be known upon its release - this being anticipated sometime during October 2022. Additional features and capability are likely to be introduced during the iPadOS lifecycle.
