Hi all,

I found this solution. Somehow the update messes up with the sound recognition function. I hope that the Apple team will fix it soon.

First go to Settings, then Accessibility, then scroll down to hearing and select "Sound recognition". Turn it off.

Siri is working again! Awesome

I hope it helps. It took me a long time to figure it out, including reinstalling the iOS but without success. Take care!

You Do not have to worry about this.

Just Disable Siri and enable it back again.

It might ask that you speak a few sentences or phrases to have an idea of your voice, and then you will have access back to Siri with Voice command.

I faced this issue after updating to ios 18.3.1 (22D72)

I had to press the voice assistant button from my car while the phone was connected to Carplay to access Siri.

But after following these steps and a restart, Siri should work just fine.

All the suggestions don’t work. The Siri options Siri HeySiri are not available to
click on. They are shadowed in the background and unavailable to use after 18.2 download

Try "Reset All Settings" by going to Settings , General ,Transfer or Reset iPhone , Reset , Reset All Settings — it might help! This actually fixed my Apple Pay NOT PAYING issue when nothing else worked....

You can also try updating your iPhone in Settings, or use your computer to repair the system. That worked for me when Siri kept crashing every time I said "Hey Siri." Which I still don't kown the reason why.

Hope this helps! 🙌

in my case sound recognition was always off , I tried enabling and disabling again

that's not the solution bro

for some people a quick restart is fixing the issue

for some people they have to disable and enable Siri again

I had to enable and respeak phrases that siri provided and it is working now

This is definitely an update bug that needs to be fixed in a correct way

because it is difficult when driving and voice assistant not responding to your voice
