Hi all,
I found this solution. Somehow the update messes up with the sound recognition function. I hope that the Apple team will fix it soon.
First go to Settings, then Accessibility, then scroll down to hearing and select "Sound recognition". Turn it off.
Siri is working again! Awesome
I hope it helps. It took me a long time to figure it out, including reinstalling the iOS but without success. Take care!

Retrain Siri with your voice
You Do not have to worry about this.
Just Disable Siri and enable it back again.
It might ask that you speak a few sentences or phrases to have an idea of your voice, and then you will have access back to Siri with Voice command.
I faced this issue after updating to ios 18.3.1 (22D72)
I had to press the voice assistant button from my car while the phone was connected to Carplay to access Siri.
But after following these steps and a restart, Siri should work just fine.
I had the same issues on 2/25/2025 after the ios update to 18.3.1. Siri worked a couple of times then no more. I turned off Siri and the side button for siri.
Settings-->Apple Intelligence & Siri-->talk & type to Siri----off and turned off press side button for siri. I then had to set her back up but then she worked.
Go to 'Screen Time' then 'Content & Privacy Restrictions' then 'Intelligence & Siri'
then enable 'Siri & Dictation'
Now you should be able to enable 'Talk to Siri' in 'Apple Intelligence'

All the suggestions don’t work. The Siri options Siri HeySiri are not available to
click on. They are shadowed in the background and unavailable to use after 18.2 download
Try "Reset All Settings" by going to Settings , General ,Transfer or Reset iPhone , Reset , Reset All Settings — it might help! This actually fixed my Apple Pay NOT PAYING issue when nothing else worked....
You can also try updating your iPhone in Settings, or use your computer to repair the system. That worked for me when Siri kept crashing every time I said "Hey Siri." Which I still don't kown the reason why.
Hope this helps! 🙌

Gregus’ solution worked for me. After I disabled sound recognition under accessibility, Siri started working again! Thanks for posting!
These are the steps that worked for me :
-Settings
-Apple Intelligence and Siri
-Talk to Siri
-“Siri or Hey Siri”
The steps I’ve seen posted here did not work for me, but these did:
-Settings
-Apple Intelligence and Siri
-Talk to Siri
-“Siri or Hey Siri”
in my case sound recognition was always off , I tried enabling and disabling again
that's not the solution bro
for some people a quick restart is fixing the issue
for some people they have to disable and enable Siri again
I had to enable and respeak phrases that siri provided and it is working now
This is definitely an update bug that needs to be fixed in a correct way
because it is difficult when driving and voice assistant not responding to your voice
Funny how this works. The option was off but I switched it on and off, she's alive again. How did you manage to find this solution?
For me it was ChatGPT causing mine to not work. Idk why but I tried everything here & it didn’t work but once I deleted the ChatGPT app, it worked again
I followed someone’s advice & deleted chat gpt and disabled the extension and my Siri works again!
Mine too. The new update, 18.3.1 helped fix this bug. New Siri is fancy! Check it out!
The new update works! 18.3.1 is available and now Siri is fancy!!!
