Iphone Compromised call received from an 800-***-9126 claiming to be Apple.

I received an automated call from 800-***-9126 telling me not to use my iphone to access my banking information etc because my device was compromised. It further stated if I wanted more information to press 1 to be connected with apple. When the rep answered I restated what the automation said and the call terminated. Since I use my phone actively for all of my personal banking and all business I am now unsettled and cannot rest with "ignore it and hang up they are scammers and criminals". Which is what was stated in the last resolution. How do I know if Apple, my device, and or information has been really compromised? What are the steps to checking my device to make sure? What is apple doing to assure users its safe to apple pay, access my bank which is already connected etc. ?

It's a scam, of course.

Apple will NEVER make such a call.
