macbook air USB-A to HDMI

I have a 2013 MacBook Air with thunderbolt and USB-A ports. I want to connect to a TV with HDMI input. Is there a USB-A (male) to HDMI (female) adapter that works?

StarTech has some USB3 adapters that can then connect to a monitor

            USB 3.0 to HDMI         - 1920x1200 (USB32HDPRO) (I've seen this working)
