My airpods pro connect to my iphone 11 but can’t play music or video. When connected It freezes up any music or video app. When i disconnect it, it plays fine with my speaker or other bluetooth devices.
The weird thing is that it plays fine on my wife’s iphone 11. Please help!

If you have an iWatch In order for the AirPod to work properly you must turn off the Bluetooth on your iWatch. Once you do that reconnect you AirPod Pro and it will work with no issues. This only happens with the AirPod Pro.
I tested the with regular Apple AirPods and you can have both iWatch and AirPods connected at the same time.
Seems to be an issues the the phone trying to hand off Bluetooth audio to the AirPod Pro while your iWatch is constantly connected via Bluetooth.
Apple has to find a solution to be able to have both just like the old AirPods.
Thank will try that. Also figured out another solution which still is not good. After doing the “Ear Tip Fit Test” I can finally play music where my iTunes doesn’t freeze up. But I have to do this every time before I can use or play music
This is so frustrating. I just got my AirPod Pros and it connected to my IPad easily but never my Iphone11. I finally forgot every device on my phone (watch, iPad). And it connected. So I guess every time I want to use them I can’t use my iwatch. Apple needs to fix this ASAP or I’m returning them and buying a knockoff from Amazon. At least those work without 100 steps.

its because you got a fake airpods pro. myfriend had the same issue and late on after some research we got to know that his airpods pro were fake. This freeze issues is one way to find that the other one is if the volume control on your iphone show airpods (normal gen1 or 2) image insted of airpods pro.

I have the same exact problem, I can connect the Air Pods Pro to my IPhone, but when trying to connect via music apps it freezes and I have to restart the apps.

Same here. Pods only work when watch is disconnected. Booked into Apple store next week. A real faff
I have this issue on my 12 mini and was about to send my AirPods back until I saw this. so happy as that would’ve been a headache! Luckily I only use my Apple Watch for tracking exercise so just keeping it turned off is no problem for me, thank you!!!
Come on. I bought mine in an Apple Store and I have the same Issue. I can connect and listen sound on my Mac but not on my iPhone. Do they also sell fake products?! I guess not 🤷♂️
I switched from Android (which I was using for the last 11 years) and I thought I won't have any problems anymore.
Turns out that it is a really restricted system which costs more but works as bad or as good als Android products.
Mine were exchanged in the apple store but now I have the same issue again. They say I should reset everything. Well, I'm not gonna do that. Makes zero sense to me. What makes sense is to go with cheaper electronics which is as good as the expensive stuff.
