Can not calculate time and duration on numbers.

I would like to make time management sheet on numbers.

But when I calculate working hours, they shows the error " The operator "_" can't subtract a date from a number. "

I am using Numbers version 10.3.5 (7029.5.5)

A: Date, B: Starting time, C: Break time, D: End time, E: Working hour.

I put like this: B2( 9:00), C2(0:30), D2(17:00), E2(=D2-B2-C2)

then for the cell format, either B2, D2 are Date&Time and C2 is Duration or all of them are Time and Duration, the calculation is not going well. Always shows the error message.

I have no idea why its not going well. Please help me out. Or give me some ideas to make it better.

Thank you,

Hi Kaoki,

Numbers may be misinterpreting 0:30 as a time of day, not a Duration. Format the Break column like this and enter 30m instead of 0:30

Ian.
