Preview is not allowing PDF to be Exported as PDF or Print to Save as PDF since update

One of the things I love about Mac computers is the ability to separate out individual pages from a larger PDF. Lately when I download a PDF or open on already saved in Preview and click on File the only option is Export, even when I select PDF I am unable to pull out individual pages from the document or file. When I try clicking on Print the only option is Save as PostScript.

I have found a workaround by viewing the attachment from gmail and then clicking print from the view screen then clicking to open in Preview and then Print and Save as PDF. This allows me to take a large file and separate out the documents in it by dragging and dropping into Drive.

I use this feature many times a day every day and the workaround takes a lot longer than the original way to just open the file downloaded to drive and click on Export as PDF in Preview.

Is this going to be corrected in another update?

I have both options File>Save As... and File>Export as PDF... but both of these do not trigger anything. I cannot save the file on my desktop. And the option described above using File>Print does not do anything when we try 'Save as PDF'. Do we need to activate an extension or anything else in settings for Monterey? I was working fine in the previous OS.

After opening a PDF in thumbnail view in Preview, select the first thumbnail that you want to extract, and then press the ⌘-key while selecting other thumbnails that you want to extract. These do not need to be sequential. Open the print panel, and choose Selected Pages in Sidebar. Click PDF, and Save as PDF, giving it a different name.

When you Quick Look the resulting PDF, it will contain only the selected thumbnails of the original PDF.
