Facebook won't launch after iOS 18 update

Well, Facebook is working on hundreds of millions of devices on iOS 18 (if it wasn’t there would be thousands of posts about it), so the problem is unlikely to be the iOS version.

Perhaps a long shot:

Do you use VPN? If so, delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile. If that fixes it, you can try reinstalling VPN.

• Are you using a VPN on your phone/tablet?

• If you have Facebook also installed, delete both of them and start with downloading Messenger first and testing.

It is not unusual for Facebook to not have a resolution as they are known for their poor support. If there is a bug in the app, it will need to be updated by Meta. They have had 9 updates in the last month to fix bugs, so that is something they are very familiar with.

I deleted the vpn as u suggest and it absolutely solves the problems with FB and messenger. 2 days at this and this is the fix. Thank u

Not unusual with Facebook. They just had another update to their app yesterday to go along with the 13 updates they have had in the last month. Their latest update says:

We've improved performance, fixed bugs, resolved crashes and added support or iOS18!

If you still experience trouble and have already removed the app and downloaded it again, then you will need to wait for another update. Based on their history, there will be another shortly as they seem to add 2 problems for every one they fix. It is clear they are relying on their users to be bug testers as they don't seem to be testing it themselves.

Someone in the forum told me that an 'insider' in either FB or Apple told them to open up the Messenger app. And, while that was open to then login to my Facebook app...and it worked!!! I'd love to know if it works for you.

You will have to get help from Facebook support. That is not an Apple product.

Any news on how to fix this issue? my iPhone 12 when using the Facebook app is currently not loading content or if it does it loads 3 to 4 posts in the feed and nothing more, it even repeats the same post over and over after refreshing and restarting the phone/ app/ updating app. Also to note same thing happening on my MAC laptop in safari web browser.

I’ve had issues with my Facebook app

whenever I try to open it kicks me out immediately, it goes worse after i reinstalled and downloaded again

if I login 5 seconds is longer I’ll be out already I’ve tried contacting the app developers but it’s seems like it’s the device im using

my iPhone SE second gen runs on IOS 18 but still making me feel I prefer the previous versions of apple more

how do I solve this dilemma ?

Facebook will need to solve this problem. When you are logged into your account, it is the Facebook servers that will log you out. When you said you tried contacting Facebook, did they actually reply to you?

Facebook offers 2 ways to stop using their service. If you closed your account, it cannot be reactivated, and if you disabled your account then follow the steps here to reactivate it. You will need to this on their website using Safari or another web browser. If you need further help with your Facebook account, then you will need to contact them for assistance.

I am having the same problem except zero posts on my feed. I’ve rebooted phone, reinstalled app, taken it to a friend of mine who fixes computers and phones for a living and we cannot get it to work for love nor money. As I’m struggling with mental health and live alone this is my way to keep in contact with friends and it’s really not helping matters

What did Facebook support say when you asked them why their app doesn’t work?

I bought an iPad Air yesterday and have been trying to login on the Facebook app today and it will not work. November 5, 2024. My new iPad updated with iOS 18.

I can still get on Facebook on my other devices. I hope there is a fix for this soon. I had thought it was a Facebook problem, but perhaps not because I have done everything possible, including clearing the case, reinstalling, Facebook app, rebooting my Wi-Fi and rebooting my new iPad, etc. I even change my password and closed out of all my accounts on Facebook. Nothing helped. If someone knows of a fix, please share it here
