Vertical Lines on my iPhone 16 Pro Max display

Apple replaced my new iPhone 16 Pro Max device with an “N” model phone, which means it’s a replacement phone. However since there is no way to know whether it’s new or refurbished, I am inclined to return it and keep the original. I haven’t seen the split second vertical lines issue in many days now. Any thoughts?

I am with the rest of you very concerned and frustrated by these mysterious vertical instantaneously appearing and disappearing lines on my brand new promax16! I must also say that I am a bit relieved that it is a software defect and not (I hope) some built in hack! Hoping that they find a fix for it very soon!

I have the same issue. It’s like multiple lines that run the length of the screen on the left side that appear for a moment and then disappear. But yeah I switched from Android… paying $1600 for a phone with issues is really disappointing. I’ve never even had a cheap $100 phone act like that. Boo

I returned my first IPhone 16 Pro max because of these issues as well. To my surprise the replacement does it too!!!… My Wife’s 16 pro max doesn’t have this issue… Very frustrating and feel like I shouldn’t have upgraded from my iPhone 13… this has seriously made me a think about exploring android.

This is the first time I searched for similar issue from this community, and it's sad that I felt a little happy reading the same issue happening to everyone. Honestly, my OCD is triggered multiple times the entire day because of this minor bug/glitch or whatever they call it and it caused so much mental stress because I thought I broke my phone. I don't have all the money in the world, Apple. I invest in buying expensive stuff from you because of quality. So, please fix this.

Hello, I have been experiencing the same issue since I bought my iPhone 16 Pro Max in January 2025, so it seems that no updates have fixed it until now. I have been considering sending the phone for repair to Apple service, but I see that it does not guarantee a solution to my problem. Is this something that will be fixed with an update, or is it a hardware issue? Has anyone received a direct response from Apple or knows how this issue is usually resolved with these models?

No worries. But to suggest this is a common issue isn't quite accurate. On the weekend Apple opened iPhone 16 up for preorder, that weekend alone, 37 MILLION people pre-ordered one. Since then, millions upon millions upon millions of people have bought an iPhone 16 model. If this was a common problem, this forum, the most widely visited forum on the planet for all things iPhone, would be littered with people complaining. Yet it's not. That doesn't minimize anyone who has an issue. I'm sure it's real. It's just not a common issue at all.

Hi guys, got a new one since 2 weeks now 16 pro max 512 and have te same issue as you all.. cant believe apple didnt do anything yet to repaire looking on the dates when you started to talk about it!! AI is not working as it should now this, maybe apple isnt as good as it was anymore..
