iPhone 16 Pro Camera loading delay and corrupted photo

Does anyone else have issues with their iphone 16 Pro camera? My camera sometimes takes time to load. I open the camera app and it takes around 5 seconds to start working. It is showing black screen for around 5 seconds. My older iphone 13 pro camera app was ready to use almost immediately after opening the app. Then yesterday I took a photo and later I realized the photo was just a black screen. I then tried to zoom in and I realized the photo file was partially corrupted... Attached you can see the photo partially exists but half of it is black screen. The camera otherwise works fine and I take photos without issues, but just this one photo was corrupted, which shows it is a software issue. Does apple intend to fix this with an update? Certainly hope so because I am fed up calling apple to complain about their software bugs and other issues...

Found a fix thanks to some people on Reddit (was really annoying me too);

It’s a bug due to game mode. If you launch every single game you have and turn off game mode on every single one that seems to fix the problem

Hoping for a proper patch cause I do kinda like game mode but this camera issue is way more irritating.

Dear apple support, I have an iPhone 16, iOS, 18.3.1. And I have the same problem as in this thread - every day, several times when I open the camera, it shows me a black screen for 3 seconds and cannot take a photo. Fix the problem urgently! Even Android smartphones for $100 do not suffer from this problem!

I also did face the same issue multiple times. When trying to open camera after relatively longer time it takes time to load about 5 sec before I can start using it.

it is not only limited to camera app, even while using other app where I have to upload the photo from camera call I have faced this issue.

Even with the Face ID Unlock I have observed sometimes it does not unlock. I have to click power button and to turn off the screen and switch it back on to make face id work.

I am using ios 18.3.2

Same here but i got the iphone 16 regular. I had the iphone 13, 11, 7, 5, etc before. Never had an issue with the camera app. It just lags every time i turn it on for a few seconds and takes a blank shot like others posted here. This should be an easy fix. It’s getting ridiculous that it’s still not fixed

Yes definitely, camera stays black for 5-10 seconds while the flash also takes a while depending on how recently it’s been used previously.

I have the same problem, I reset my iPhone to factory settings, but the problem reappeared, it seems that the latest iOS update did not fix it:(

same thing happened to me, very delay on face ID, camera, flashlight. Hopefully Apple can see this post and fix the issue asap

I am currently using iPhone 16 plus and facing the same issue of blackout while opening the camera app. I had iPhone 11 previously but never had I ever experienced this type of blackout.

I still experience this issue on my iPhone 16 plus, v18.3.2. What is the point of having a camera control button?
