iPhone 16 Pro Camera loading delay and corrupted photo

Found a fix thanks to some people on Reddit (was really annoying me too);

It’s a bug due to game mode. If you launch every single game you have and turn off game mode on every single one that seems to fix the problem

Hoping for a proper patch cause I do kinda like game mode but this camera issue is way more irritating.

Update 18.3 fixed this problem for me!

I just did some troubleshooting, and may have solved this. I offloaded iMovie and now the camera is working as it should without lag.

i had suspected that it had to be an app causing issues that connected with the camera. And of course no surprise it is an Apple app causing problems.

Along this thinking, i deleted the 2 game apps i had and the camera works almost instantly again. so.. you cannot game on apple if you want to use your camera quickly lol!

If the photo originally came out looking like this (as shown in the image), we'll probably have to wait for Apple to fix this issue. If it's caused by other problems, you might want to try a photo repair tool. I've found a free one you could try - no software download needed. I've tested it multiple times with decent success rates.

Seems like Updating to ios 18.3 fixes the issue for me

This problem has been with me the moment I unboxed my iPhone, resulting sometimes in having to restart my iPhone completely

Its a bug, that I have had for over a month now even on new updates.. sad apple.

There is something absolutely wrong with iPhone 16 models. This is major and apparently no way to fix even with multiple software updates, etc. The camera lags and there is a 5 second or more black screen delay when opening the camera to take a pic. Additionally the camera lags 5 seconds or more when actually taking a picture. Due to this picture can result in blurred corrupted images. Completely unacceptable for Apple premium phones. We are all now stuck with these expensive subpar phones. Was just visiting Panama and was introduced to Huawei phones and they are absolutely incredible. Camera and images are unmatched to the subpar iPhone. What has happened to Apple and its innovation? We pay a premium for these phones and should expect the best! And apple support had me try all these things which did absolutely nothing. And I have basically a bare bones phone meaning zero gaming apps and extremely limited external apps overall.

Same, the update seems to have fixed the issues.

I have i phone 16 , camera launch is slow

i swear its so irritating, a brand like apple having these problem even update can not fix it

i hope next update is going to fix it
