Home Screen icons layering over folders on MacBook Pro

All of a sudden images for calendar, clocks, News, weather and stock indexes are on my Home Screen covering folders. I don't know how or why but these are layering over and covering things on my home screen. See below. How do I get rid of them?

Hi,

It's not the error, but widgets.

Add and customise widgets on Mac – Apple Support (AU)
